Alice Law
Principal of China Practice Alice Law has been appointed as Principal of China Practice with effect from 1 October 2007. Alice currently resides in Shanghai to monitor and manage day-to-day operations of the Shanghai office of Grant Thornton. Alice has significant professional assurance experience of which 13 years were spent in mainland China. Prior to stationing in Shanghai, Alice worked in Hong Kong and Beijing. She has obtained extensive knowledge of local compliance in the area of accounting and taxation in China. She provides transaction support, due diligence and specialises in servicing privately held clients. She is experienced in assisting clients with setting up accounting and reporting systems, internal control review and due diligence. Alice advises on PRC and overseas reporting standards, such as International Financial Reporting Standards and provides business advice to international clients in relation to their presence and activities in PRC. Alice holds an MBA degree and is a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Amos Li
Assurance Principal Amos Li has been appointed as Assurance Principal with effect from 1 October 2007. Amos has extensive assurance experience in serving listed companies operating mainly in Hong Kong and mainland China, over a wide variety of industries including energy resources, property construction, telecommunication, financial and investment advisory services, manufacturing, etc. Amos has been involved in various transaction support assignments including initial public offerings and financial due diligence as well as corporate mergers and acquisitions. Amos is a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong.

Doris Poon
Principal of China Practice Doris Poon has been appointed as Principal of China Practice with effect from 1 October 2007. Doris has significant experience in audit and corporate advisory work. She handles a portfolio of audit assignments over a variety of industries. Doris is also involved in various transaction support assignments including initial public offerings and financial due diligence. She deals with a wide range of Hong Kong based companies including companies listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (Main board and GEM) as well as auditing PRC listed companies. Doris is responsible for Grant Thornton's Shenzhen and Guangzhou offices in Southern China and has assisted many companies in their establishment of representative offices and joint ventures in China. Doris is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong.

Norman Tsui
Assurance Principal Norman Tsui has been appointed as Assurance Principal with effect from 1 October 2007. Norman Tsui has over 16 years of professional assurance experience of which ten years were gained in Singapore. Norman has extensive experience in providing audit and business advisory services to a wide range of clients. He also leads assignments in providing financial due diligence reviews for mergers and acquisitions and acting as reporting accountants of companies in their initial public offering exercises in Hong Kong and Singapore. Norman is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore, an Associate of the Singapore Institute of Taxation Limited and a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.

Chris Tam
Director of Business Risk Services Chris Tam has been appointed as Director of Business Risk Services with effect from 1 October 2007. Chris will focus in further developing Business Risk Services in China. Chris has more than 13 years' experiences in working in Hong Kong and China. Chris managed various internal audit outsourcing, enterprises risk management, external audit and internal control services assignments for clients across different industries including manufacturing, telecommunication, energy and retailing in mainland China and Asia Pacific region. Chris has assisted three of the Fortune 500 global giants to successfully implement their first year of US SOX 404. Chris is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong.

Gordon Hau
Director of Business Risk Services Gordon Hau has been appointed as Director of Business Risk Services with effect from 1 October 2007. Gordon has over 12 years' experiences working for large international accounting firms and the commercial sector. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, he worked with international accounting firms in the area of Risk Consulting. Gordon managed a number of risk advisory engagements for clients across different industries including banking, insurance, telecommunication, public sectors, trading and manufacturing in Hong Kong and mainland China. Gordon also worked in the commercial sector. He worked in two major banks in Hong Kong as an Internal Auditor. Gordon holds a bachelor degree in accounting and information systems. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong and a member of CPA Australia. He is also a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA).
