RII's support in major industry events in China (Beijing and Hong Kong) and India (Delhi)

Grant Thornton was one of the sponsors of the Beijing － Hong Kong  　Seminar on Corporate Restructuring and Liquidation which was held in Hong Kong on 3 September 2004. Alan Tang, a member of the Joint Working Group, together with Alison Wong and other members of RII staff, assisted with the organisation of the event. It attracted over 120 members of HKICPA's Insolvency Interest Group as well as guest speakers from Beijing, including the Vice Director of the Beijing Commerce Bureau.
　 　

Grant Thornton and Lovells were the co-sponsors of the Summit Forum on China's Insolvency Law in Beijing on 16 October 2004. As panel speakers, Alan and Alison shared their views on the new draft of the PRC bankruptcy law from an international perspective. Their presentation was well received by over 100 professionals and media from China and Hong Kong.
　 　

Alan and Alison also attended the 4th Forum on Asian Insolvency Reform in Delhi, India on 3 - 5 November 2004 which was jointly organised by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development, the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank. The main topic of discussion were insolvency systems and risk management in Asia.
