China and Global Capital Markets - HKICPA and ICAEW

 

 

 

   

The Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) jointly organised the "China and Global Capital Markets Conference 2006" for the first time on 11 and 12 April 2006 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The aim of this first major conference initiative was to bring together senior government and regulatory figures, leading opinion formers, academics, global investors and Chinese companies active in international capital markets, to discuss issues of mutual interest.

David McDonnell discussed the role of the accounting profession in improving the information provided by Chinese companies to the capital markets and the priorities for convergence of accounting standards and corporate governance with other experts around the world.
