Daisy Ip has been appointed as Tax Director. Daisy specialises in China and Hong Kong tax, and has extensive experience in advising multinationals as well as private corporate clients with their cross border transactions in China and Hong Kong, including entry strategy, the selection and setting up of appropriate investment vehicles, M&A, corporate restructuring, PRC tax due diligence review and transfer pricing review.
Daisy also provides expatriate tax planning advice to her individual clients with cross border duties on how to structure their compensation packages efficiently.
She is also involved in assisting clients with tax audits by the tax authorities.
Daisy contributes regularly to various media. She serves on the Grant Thornton International Asia Pacific Direct Taxes Committee. She is affiliated with the China Tax Society, as well as the Taxation Committee of the Hong Kong
Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and holds an MBA degree from the University of Arizona.

Michael To has been appointed as Tax Director. Michael has more than 18 years of experience working in international accounting firms and commercial organisations, of which over 10 years have been spent in China related areas.
Michael has extensive experience advising clients on taxation and operational issues related to their investments in China, in particular, the structure for direct investment in China, mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisation, structure for the purposes of minimisation of tax exposures, planning for individuals to minimise their personal tax exposures etc. He is always involved in negotiations with the PRC officials during the process of assisting his clients in setting up their establishments in China and optimising their tax positions.
Michael is experienced in serving international clients engaging in a variety of businesses including insurance, procurement of products, trading, construction, manufacturing, restaurants, media, sport shoes designers, electronic measurement devices, information technology and professionals such as architects, quantitative surveyors etc.
Michael holds an MBA degree. He is a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong, a fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and also a member of China Tax Society. |
