Alvin Au

Mr Alvin Au has been appointed as Assurance Principal with effect from 22 January 2007.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Alvin accumulated over 15 years experience in providing assurance and assurance related services as a partner of one of the international accounting firms in Hong Kong.

Alvin spent six years in Shanghai with an international accounting firm. During that period, he developed considerable experience in H, B and A share and PRC state-owned enterprise audits. Aside from performing recurring audit engagements, Alvin is also experienced in performing financial due diligence reviews and transaction support assignments for multinational clients investing in businesses in mainland China as well as special IPO projects for PRC enterprises seeking to be listed in Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and Singapore.

Alvin qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the London office of an international accounting firm. He is a Fellow of both the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.  

Fanny Hsiang Director, Professional Practice

Grant Thornton recently announced the appointment of Fanny Hsiang as Director of Professional Practice. Fanny provides advisory services to the Firm’s assurance practice and facilitates the application of accounting standard requirements.

Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Fanny accumulated over 15 years of professional experience in international and major accounting firms.

Fanny has extensive experience in financial reporting related work and research on topical accounting issues. She specialises in financial reporting support in relation to the Hong Kong Financial Reporting Standards (HKFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Hong Kong Companies Ordinance requirements.

Fanny is a Certified Public Accountant (Practising) in Hong Kong.
