Introducing GTI Voyager
The world of accountancy is constantly changing; and accounting, auditing and ethical standards are becoming increasingly complex. Grant Thornton's clients are likewise continuously evolving and entering into ever-more complex business transactions.

We are always investing in the latest audit methodology and technology in order to satisfy our clients' increasing demands for quality audits and to maintain our commitment to providing them with world-class services in the most efficient way.

Besides enhancing Horizon, our audit methodology, we have now developed the new Grant Thornton Voyager. This is the key application that supports our enhanced methodology, and it will be rolled out shortly among Grant Thornton member firms around the world.

Streamlining audit processes
Voyager combines our two existing applications, GT Explorer and auditCARE, into a single integrated application. It will streamline the audit process and provide a much more efficient platform for our audits. Every aspect of Voyager, including its underlying database, has been built using the most modern technology. The underlying database will manage the relationships between cycles, assertions, risk, activities, processes, controls and procedures.

A key element of a world-class audit is its compliance with professional standards. Voyager's procedures are therefore mapped to underlying auditing standards. Its database can also be localised to incorporate differences between legal and auditing requirements in individual countries. In addition, Voyager is scalable to entities of all sizes.

GT Explorer was developed in 1995, and has been retrofitted with many modifications over the years. After serving us for more than 13 years, GT Explorer is about to retire. However, using Grant Thornton Voyager, a newly developed cutting edge tool, we will continue to deliver world-class audits to all of our clients. We look forward to embarking on the new voyage!
