Grant Thornton International has published its latest Annual Review and Transparency Report. The Report outlines the significant impact that a more fluid market has had on competition among international accounting organisations, and discusses the surging demand from fast-growth economies especially in Asia, Eastern Europe and South America. The Review highlights the performance of Grant Thornton International's member firms and assesses the current state of the profession and its prospects. Around the world, member firms of Grant Thornton International have delivered outstanding performances. This year's combined growth in fee income of 17% marks the third consecutive year of double-digit growth for the organisation and one of the strongest performances of any accounting network. The report also outlines the organisation's management of quality control and risk management issues and provides an overview of Grant Thornton International's governance structure. David McDonnell, Chief Executive Officer of Grant Thornton International said: "The regulatory changes and market shake up of the last few years have provided Grant Thornton International member firms with significant opportunities for growth. And I see that trend continuing into the future. The fast-growing markets in Asia, Central and Eastern Europe and South America are emerging as key drivers for cross-border accounting operations. In more established markets, falling trade barriers and the influence of technology mean that companies of all sizes now have access to distant countries and markets."
